About Terri Pickens Manweiler
Terri Pickens Manweiler is a fourth generation Idahoan, born and raised in Pocatello. Terri graduated from Highland High School and went on to the University of Southern California, where she graduated with a B.A. in Political Science in 1994. Terri returned to Idaho to attend the University of Idaho College of Law where she participated in the Idaho Law Review, Appellate Clinic, and she earned her J.D. in 1998. After law school, she was a Public Defender for Nez Perce County in Lewiston. In 1999, Terri relocated to Boise to start her career as a trial attorney.
Terri is the founding partner of Pickens Law, P.A., a firm she started in 2008. Terri practices in the area of real estate litigation, construction litigation and general commercial litigation. She is a member of the Idaho State Bar, the Idaho Women Lawyers, the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association, and she is licensed to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Idaho and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Terri is regularly in court and has tried many cases in the District Court and argued several appeals to the Idaho Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit.
Terri is active in her community supporting the Women’s & Children’s Alliance, as well as the Court Appointed Special Advocate program in Ada County, volunteering as an attorney in child protective cases. Terri is a recipient of the Denise O’Donnell Day Pro Bono Award from the Idaho State Bar for her representation of Family Advocates. In 2010, Terri was selected as one of Boise’s Accomplished Under 40 recipients through the Idaho Business Review. Terri was honored as one of Idaho Business Review’s Business Women of the Year in 2012. Terri is also a graduate of Leadership Boise. In 2013, Terri was honored with the Tribute to Women in Industry Award from the Boise Women and Children’s Alliance. As a small business owner, Terri was recognized by the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce as one of the finalists for Small Businesses of the Year in 2014.
Terri is married to another Boise attorney, Mark Manweiler. She has two children, a daughter, Maya, and a son, Parker. They enjoy the great outdoors, golfing, spending time with their dogs, and travel. Together they have enjoyed whitewater rafting in the Frank Church Wilderness, Hell’s Canyon, the South Fork and Main Payette Rivers, and the Snake River. Terri and Mark enjoy bird hunting in the Owyhee Mountains, pheasant hunting all throughout southern Idaho, and duck hunting in the many beautiful spots along the Boise River. Terri has spent time fishing many of Idaho’s great and scenic rivers all across the state from Henry’s Fork of the Snake River, to the St. Joe River in Northern Idaho, the Salmon River from Salmon to Riggins, and the South Fork of the Boise River, to name a few. In the winter you will find them on the slopes at Bogus Basin, and they have enjoyed skiing at Brundage Mountain, Sun Valley, Silver Mountain, Pomerelle, and Pebble Creek. Growing up, Terri spent much of her summers in Island Park camping, riding dirt bikes, and fishing with her family. Now, she camps all over Idaho with Mark and her children. Having access to the great outdoors is very important to Terri. With its vast amount of public lands, Terri is proud to call Idaho home.
